Samuel Leske

Samuel grew up in the South Island of New Zealand and from an early age was interested in astronomy. The night sky was clearly visible from where he grew up and light pollution was not as bad as it is now and he remembers viewing Halley’s Comet in 1986 through his uncle’s old binoculars.

Samuel has tertiary level qualifications in Geography and Philosophy and recently started studying astrophysics. He has spent his working career in the public service and spends his spare time with astronomy outreach and helping the New Zealand Astrobiology Network.
